Man accused of tying up woman, shooting her turns himself in, Clayton County Police say

The woman was found earlier this month and died Sunday.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County Police are no longer searching for a suspect tied to a horrific crime.

Kevin Barge turned himself in Tuesday night, according to police.

He's accused of keeping two people prisoners in Clayton County, one of which was a woman who was tied up and shot multiple times. She later died.

Police found her at a Clayton County home Fourth of July weekend. Investigators said she died Sunday..

Clayton County Police Department officers said they made the gruesome discovery just before 4 a.m. on July 5 after getting a call about someone being shot.

They arrived at the 5500 block of Riverdale Road and found the woman in a bedroom "with her hands and feet tied together," officers said. Police also found another victim who they said was able to escape, run to a neighbor's home and called 911. Officers said Barge was gone before police arrived at the home.

11Alive dug into his previous records and found that back in 2002, he was charged with the sale and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute in Fulton County, to which he pled guilty and served five years probation.

We’re still digging into his past cases in other courts.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPSS or the CCPD at 770-477-3550.
