Police: Man fatally shot at gas pump

 Police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man outside a gas station in Smyrna.

SMYRNA, Ga. -- Police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man outside a gas station in Smyrna.

According to Smyrna police, the incident happened just before 11 p.m. Monday at the Texaco gas station located at 2691 South Cobb Drive.

Investigators said the victim was leaving the store and walking towards the fuel pump when a dark green Chevrolet Avalanche truck drove up to a pump. A man got out of the truck and shot the victim in the head.

The suspect then fled south on South Cobb Drive, police said.

The victim died at the scene.

Police describe the suspect at a black man in his mid-30s standing between 5'10" and 6' tall. He weighs between 160 and 180 pounds. He was driving a dark green Chevrolet Avalanche that had a partially faded driver's front and rear door and a blacked out Chevrolet emblem on the grill. It contained various tools, a vacuum cleaner and a large spool of large gauge wire in the bed.
