DOUGLAS, Ga. — Unusual calls probably aren't that much of a surprise for most police departments. Being called to everything from missing pets to exotic animals on the run, they see their fair share oddball call-outs.

But one that happened in a south Georgia town of about 12,000 was so good even police had to share. According to a social media post by the Douglas, Georgia Police Department, officers were dispatched to help a motorist with an unusual problem.

Apparently the driver was afraid to drive home with a lizard on her dashboard - and she was also afraid to move it herself. Police arrived to find the lizard and safely relocate it to a more appropriate environment.

The department ended with a couple of lizard emoticons and the words "-HONOR -INTEGRITY & last but not least-SERVICE."

The post also pointed out that it was "our strangest call so far tonight" though being just before 9 p.m., the night was still very young.
