Lanes reopen after driver hits wall, ejected from car in Dunwoody: Police

Officials said the person was ejected from his car. Another car was also hit from behind, police said.

DUNWOODY, Ga. — Lanes are back opened after being completely closed on Interstate 285 heading westbound in Dunwoody due to a crash, according to officials on Wednesday.

It happened at Asher Dunwoody Road on I-285 in the westbound lanes. Dunwoody Police Department said a driver was driving and hit the left wall. Officials said the person was ejected from his car. Another car was also hit from behind, police said.

The driver who hit the left wall was taken to Grady Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers are unsure when all the roads will be back open but are trying to open one left lane to let traffic through.

11Alive Traffic Expert Crash Clark said drivers should use Interstate 85 South to Georgia 400 North as an alternate route to avoid the road. People can also take Peachtree Boulevard to Ashford Dunwoody Road, which will take drivers right in front of the wreck.
