Golf ball size hail, flooding spotted in north Georgia | Wednesday weather alerts and updates

11Alive was tracking updates and alerts as they came in throughout Wednesday.

ATLANTA — Much of metro Atlanta and north Georgia was under a Level 2 "Slight" risk for severe weather Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, with parts of west Georgia under the Level 3 "Enhanced" risk.

That resulted in a tornado watch already issued for some of that region Wednesday afternoon, for counties such as Heard, Meriwether and Troup in the broader Atlanta viewing area. The tornado watch was originally in effect until 7 p.m., but was expired just after 5:30 p.m.
