Severe weather causes delays at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport

Severe weather continues to impact air travel.

ATLANTA — If you plan on flying today, be aware that flights both leaving and arriving in Atlanta could be delayed due to severe weather. 

Early Tuesday, the FAA issued a ground stop and all inbound flights to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport are being held at their origin until 12:00 p.m.

FlightAware also lists cancellations here. As of 12:00 p.m., there were 27 cancellations out of Hartsfield-Jackson and 27 cancellations into the airport. There were hundreds of delays following the weather.

A tornado warning and then a severe thunderstorm warning was issued early Tuesday morning near the Atlanta airport, but expired at 8:45 a.m.
