The majority of North Georgia and metro Atlanta are under a marginal risk for severe weather for the rest of the evening and overnight. The threats include damaging winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning. While hail or tornadoes are not threats, we cannot rule them out with this system.
Here is a timeline of when to expect the severe weather.
EVENING
We will be tracking just a few isolated thunderstorms that could develop during the evening. They won't be widespread.
OVERNIGHT
Scattered showers will continue throughout the overnight hours.
Tuesday
A few lingering showers will be with us off and on during the day. The "slight" risk for severe storms will be in east Georgia and the Carolinas.
