Two people killed in crash on Georgia hwy in Banks Co.

No charges will be filed since the driver believed to be at fault passed away.

BANKS COUNTY, Ga. — Two people are dead after one driver failed to adhere to a stop sign on Georgia 164 Sunday around 3:30 p.m.

Cpl. Major D. Patterson said one vehicle was traveling east on GA 164 and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Georgia 164 and Georgia 59. Another vehicle traveling north on Georgia 59 hit that vehicle. 

The passenger, 27-year-old Lequesha Smith of Commerce, Georgia in vehicle one died on site but the driver, 27-year-old Sametrice Antwon Johnson was taken to the hospital where he later died. 

The two people in vehicle two suffered little to no injuries, according to Patterson. 

No charges will be filed since the driver believed to be at fault passed away.
