Woman dragged by car in an attempt to stop purse snatchers at gas station in Atlanta, police say

The woman told police she was cleaning out her SUV when three men pulled up next to her.

ATLANTA — A woman was dragged while holding unto a car after she attempted to stop a three men from driving away with her purse, according to Atlanta Police. 

It happened at a gas station off Northside Drive late Thursday night, according to the Atlanta police report. 

The victim told police she was at the gas station to clean out her SUV when three men pulled up next to her. According to police, one of the men got out of his car and snatched her purse from the passenger seat, then hopped back into the passenger seat of his car. 

The woman grabbed the suspect's passenger door to get them to stop from driving away with her purse. The driver didn't stop and dragged the woman "a short distance," according to Atlanta Police. 

The suspects drove away and headed south on Northside Drive. 

Luckily, the woman wasn't seriously hurt and declined any medical help. 

Atlanta Police said this case is still under investigation.
