Ikea opening new metro Atlanta location with planning, concept store

Officials announced that the location will not feature a full store but a "Plan & Order Point."

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — For Ikea lovers, home decor just got a little sweeter after the retailer announced it's bringing a new concept format store to Alpharetta this summer.

The retailer is bringing a piece of the store to the Mansell Crossing Shopping Center on North Point Parkway. Officials announced that the location will not feature a full store but a "Plan & Order Point."

“The good news keeps coming! I couldn't be more thrilled to share our latest location for an IKEA Plan and order point with pick-up in Alpharetta. It's all about bringing Ikea's magic closer to customers, making it easier and more affordable to access our home furnishing products and solutions,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer at Ikea.

It will also have a pick-up point that will offer customers a meeting point for their items.

According to a news release, Ikea experts will also be at the location to help with interior design planning.

The latest opening will be the newest in metro Atlanta since the first Ikea store opened near Atlantic Station in 2005.

A release stated that customers will still need to travel to that location for Ikea's beloved food offerings.

With the new location, the retailer plans to allow customers to have access to affordability and convenience.

The exact opening date was not announced in the release.
