Rescue crews searching for possible drowning victim in Chattahoochee River

The person was alerted missing in the water just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta Police and search crews are scouring the Chattahoochee River today, looking for a possible drowning victim.

Officer Neil Penirelli with Marietta Police said officers were dispatched to reports of a person in the water off Akers Drive at 6:22 p.m. Tuesday. Officials are back out looking for the person on Wednesday.

The person’s identity has not been released.
