COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A significant sinkhole shut down a busy road in Cobb County Thursday, according to the county's department of transportation. It could remain closed until 6 p.m.
Northbound lanes of Austell Road are completely closed at Callaway Road due to a drainage pipe issue.
Crews with heavy equipment have been out repairing the road since a little after 6 a.m.
Drivers are encouraged to use Powder Springs Road as an alternate.
