2-year-old dies after being hit by car in DeKalb

The child was taken to the hospital where he died, according to police.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County Police are investigating a crash where where a 2-year-old was killed after being hit by a vehicle Monday evening.

Officers received a call around 7:25 p.m. that a boy had been hit on Glenwood Road at the Austin Oaks Apartments. Police said a vehicle was leaving the complex when the toddler wandered into the road.

The child was taken to the hospital with major injuries and died, according to DeKalb Police. The little boy was later identified as Logan Lewis.

The driver did remain on the scene. 11Alive did ask about where the child's parents were when the accident happened - police said that is under investigation.

No other information was available.
