ATLANTA — Police are investigating after a person was found dead at a southwest Atlanta apartment complex.
Atlanta Police Department officers were called to 2423 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. SW Thursday night. The address is to The Peaks at MLK apartments off Interstate 20, not far from a Wendy's fast food restaurant and a CVS store.
Investigators said they were responding to a "person shot call." Once they arrived, they did find a victim shot dead, but it's too early in the investigation to determine what led up to the shooting, police said.
11Alive has a crew at the scene. Several police vehicles were in the parking lot and roped off access to a building. Officers were seen collecting evidence and speaking with neighbors.
Police did not say when they would have an update on the case.
