Road rage driver shoots at cars on Interstate near Grady Hospital

Police said the man was driving an older white model Dodge Caravan with a drive out tag.

ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are looking for a man that shot at two vehicles on the interstate during a road rage incident.

It happened last Monday around 10 a.m. on I-75 southbound near Grady Hospital

Police said the driver of a white Dodge Caravan shot his handgun multiple times at two different cars. One of the five victims told Atlanta Police that he blew his horn at the suspect because he merged into his lane without using a turn signal. Apparently, the suspect merged on I-85 south from 400 in the Buckhead area. Shortly after the victim blew his horn, he told police that the suspect drove left towards the HOV lane and began following him. The suspect was between two to three cars when he began shooting at the victim's car.

Another victim said and her three-year-old son was caught in the crossfire. The woman told police that she heard sounds, but figured it was her tires. When she looked up, she saw the suspect pointing a small black handgun outside of his white van and that shortly after he put it back inside of his car. She said the suspect was wearing a grey shirt. The three-year-old was in the backseat.

The targeted victim said the suspect was last known heading towards I-20 westbound.

Luckily, no one inside of the cars was hurt, but the passenger doors on both vehicles were damaged.

The victim described the suspect as a black man around 30 to 40 years old wearing a red, black and grey shirt. Police said the man was driving an older white model Dodge Caravan with a drive out tag.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.StopCrimeATL.com.
