CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County Police have identified a man found dead on the morning of Nov. 13, 2022. Authorities identified him as Jon Reed on Wednesday.
Authorities said Reed is from Illinois and that his loved ones have been notified.
He was found dead at the 600 block of Hunter Ridge Drive in Jonesboro – near Hawthorne Elementary School, according to police. Authorities previously released a sketch due to the condition of Reed's body.
"We want to thank every law enforcement agency, our partners, and citizens that assisted us with identifying Mr. Jon M. Reed," Clayton County Police said in a social media post.
Clayton County Police said the case is still being investigated pending the results of the autopsy.
