ATLANTA — UPDATE (2:55 p.m.): I-75 South has reopened, traffic cameras show.

UPDATE (2:40 p.m.): The situation appears to be cleared on the overpass. Both directions of Northside Drive are now open, though I-75 South currently remains blocked.

Original story below

All lanes are closed on I-75 South on Thursday afternoon due to a police situation on the Northside Drive overpass.

Police are currently communicating with an individual threatening to jump from the overpass.

There is no timetable for when the situation might be resolved. Northside Drive itself appears to be closed in the southbound lanes..

Drivers should avoid I-75 any way they can currently. They can use Collier Road or Howell Mill Road instead to travel around back toward Buckhead and Midtown.

So far, traffic stoppage is stretching back to about Peachtree Battle Ave.
