My Chemical Romance to headline Music Midtown during first tour in years

The band announced the tour to fans in a special video on social media.

ATLANTA — My Chemical Romance will headline this year’s Music Midtown, a representative confirmed to 11Alive on Wednesday.

The band recently came together for a sold-out show at the landmark Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles in 2019 and has decided to hit the road on a full U.S. tour.

The band announced the tour to fans in a special video on social media.

It will all go down beginning Sept. 9 in Detroit and finishing on Oct. 11 in Las Vegas.

On Sept. 20, the band will perform during Music Midtown, one of Atlanta’s biggest festivals of the year.

While the band hasn’t made new music in several years, My Chemical Romance continues to be popular on music services like Apple Music and Spotify.  A rep writes they “rack up half a billion global streams each year”.

Tickets will go live Friday at 12 p.m. local time – get them HERE.
