Reconsideration of bond denied for suspect in disappearance, presumed death of Allahnia Lenoir

Allahnia Lenoir went missing in 2022 and has never been found.

ATLANTA — One of the suspects charged with murder in the 2022 disappearance and presumed death of 24-year-old Allahnia Lenoir was denied a reconsideration of bond Thursday as he continues to await trial.

Diante Reynolds was in court seeking a new bond consideration, as he was last denied bond in June of last year and has been held pending trial since September 2022. His attorney argued his previous convictions were nonviolent and that he was not a flight risk because he'd never missed a prior court date in other cases and has lived in Georgia his whole life.

An order signed by Judge Jane Barwick denying bond listed him as a flight risk as well as a "significant threat or danger," a "significant risk of committing a felony" and a "significant risk of intimidating witnesses."

Lenoir was last seen on July 30, 2022, at a Midtown apartment complex at the 1600 block of Peachtree Street NE. Her family said she was supposed to be visiting friends.

For months the family handed out fliers, hoping anyone would have information and come forward in the case.

Police officially released their missing person advisory on Aug. 1. Meanwhile, a private investigator was hired by the family to help with the search. APD then updated the public on Sept. 20, stating they believe the 24-year-old "was murdered and that her body was disposed of."

Reynolds and a second suspect, Steven Oboite, were announced with murder charges. Oboite has never been found. A third suspect, Nicholas Hendrickson, was charged in 2022 for allegedly lying to officers and tampering with evidence.

Hendrickson was also denied a reconsideration of bond back in January.

Lenoir's mother, Jannette Jackson, spoke at that proceeding.

"It's been 543 days since I last saw our daughter or spoke to her. That fact is an increasingly daily challenge," she said. "I wish I could tell you that I'm a little less hurt and that I sleep better at night. I wish I could tell you I no longer have nightmares of the people who helped my daughter disappear...  That's just not my life."
